Enclosed is version 2.3f of the Eagle GradeBook program. If you have any questions, just drop me a note. If you find any problems with this release, please let me know as soon as possible. Below are some of the additions since version 2.2.
Version 2.3f will NOT open a gradebook file created with any version earlier than 2.0. If you are using a version earlier than 2.0 then I suggest you wait until you start a new class before using this version.
• Fixed bug that caused dates not to compare properly in Missed Work and Report Marks reports.
• Column widths for the name and grade columns of the spreadsheets are now saved with the gradebook file.
• When launching the program by double-clicking on a data file the grade mappings wouldn't work correctly although they were loaded correctly. I suspect it was because they wern't locked down. Locked them and it appears to work now.
• When a student was deleted the last row of all spreadsheets wasn't cleared. Fixed this.
• Added Display Assignments to the Assignment menu. This option displays the current subject's assignments.
• Now when a student grade is entered that exceeds tha maximum value (points) a beep is sounded.
• Now have the ability to sort students by first name, last name, or ID.
• Added Birthday report. This report will display to the monitor and then the teacher can request it be printed. Gives student name, ID, and birthday.
• Added Blank Spreadsheet to the Print... menu. This report simply prints a blank spreadsheet with only the student's name or ID. The spreadsheet will always fill the page.
• Added Assignments menu item "Display in Reverse Order", which allows the user to switch the state of the flag. When ReverseOrder is TRUE, the menu item will have a check mark next to it.
• A typo in the StudentReport routine was using the wrong value when converting a category grade to Custom Grade output. Fixed.
• Added 'Assignment Average' as the fifth method of computing grades. This method is a straight sum of all assignment marks in the subject divided by the straight sum of all assignment values in the subject. All dialogs and routined were modified to accomodate the new method. Preliminary tests seem all to work. All possible combinations with all reports has not been tried but since they all use the same routine to compute the grades, I feel pretty sure they should work.
• Added 'Unload...' to the File menu. This option will dump the entire contents of a gradebook to a text file.
• Added option for date to be in yy-mm-dd format.
• When attendance is not displayed in reverse order, the Go To..., Fill Date..., and Clear Date... commands did not work properly. Fixed.
• Attendance chart now only displays school days (new gradebooks only).
• When a cell in a chart was selected and the chart was scrolled the top line of the box would be erased. This was fixed.
• Added 'Fill Assignment...' to the Assignment menu. This will fill an assignment column with the grade given by the teacher.
• Added 'Print Summary' to the Attendance menu. this willl generate a report showing, for each student, the number of occurances for each defined attendance key.
